New england thin axe head with curved bit excellent condition. This is a thin axe head with a curved bit and 2 light grooves that was unearthed years ago under the floor boards of a very old house in southeastenr massachusetts by the person that i bought it from. Axe is 5 1/2 long, 2 7/8 deep, and 5/8 at the thickest point, and it has the 2 light grooves no the back half of the head for hafting. Condition and patina are excellent with no damage and no restoration and only a couple of very small flakes on the bit edge. Both faces of the axe head are relatively flat, but the area between the 2 grooves is concave on one side adn very smooth. This is an interesting axe from new england and has never been offeerd on the market before.
